Your TV would only be covered for named perils in your policy. Things like Fire, Lightning, Wind, Theft and other natural perils. As a rule accidental damage would not be covered. Keep in mind too that your renters insurance has a deductible, so if your deductible is close to the cost of replacing the TV then it may not be to your advantage to turn in a claim anyway.
