In 2009, Nationwide Corporation (a wholly owned subsidiary of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company) bought out all the outstanding shares of common stock of Nationwide Financial Services, thus making NFS into a private, mutual company, as well. Nationwide is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
