If your doctor orders Home Health Care Medicare will pay 100% of the cost. If you hire someone to come in to provide the Home Health Care you will be responsible for 100% of the cost. If you think you are going to need a lot of Home Care (several hours during the day or night) Medicare will not pay for that type of Home Health Care. If the care is custodial in nature Medicare will pay little or nothing towards the costs.
