Hybrid life insurance combines life insurance with other types of coverage such as accidental death insurance, long term care benefits, or even a combination of universal life and term insurance. Being able to get two types of policies in one can save expense and certainly cuts down on the hassle and paperwork of owning multiple policies. However, it is wise to review the features of the hybrid to make sure you understand the policy and are getting what you want.

Hybrid Life Insurance Policies could be addressing two product items, perhaps more. Hybrid life insurance products of the past are generally referring to a permanent form of life insurance with a term life insurance rider. But more recently it refers to adding “living benefits” to a term or permanent life insurance policy like long term care, critical illness, catastrophic care, disability, etc.
