   Water damage is troublesome. If the water damage comes from the pipes carrying water inside the house, the damage is probably covered. If the damage comes from leaky plumbing or backed up sewer it is probably not covered. If the leaking is seepage through the wall, it is probably not covered. If the damage is the result of flooding it would be covered if you also had a flood policy.

   It is always a good idea to talk with your Insurance Professional about the terms and conditions of your policy. It may be possible that this coverage is included or can be included in your policy. If your Home Insurance company offers an optional coverage extension to protect from loss due to the failure of a drainage system, the coverage may be found in that extension.
