Thanks for your question. In order to answer this question one would need to see your insurance policy.

Really the only people that can answer this question are the claims agents for AAA. There are multitude of reasons that the claim could be denied. Unfortunately there is no universal claims answers.

Most homeowners claims involving water have many qualifying conditions for the damages to be covered. First and foremost, a claim must involve a “sudden and accidental” event. In other words ANY pipe that develops a slow leak is considered a “maintenance” issue and not sudden an accidental. An example of a sudden and accidental event would be a pipe “bursting” and causing consequential damages.

In general, if the damages are substantial, you should file the claim as soon as reasonably possible. This is because most policies have a requirement to “mitigate” damages from the event so as to prevent further damages to the property.

The answer in general to this question would be yes if it was a water pipe in your house but there is a lot more detail needed to provide a definite answer. Leaking from pipes outside to your pool will still likely be covered. I assume you are talking about homeowners insurance through AAA which is the Hartford. You will also have to meet any deductible son your policy and you could have an issue with the claim if this was a slow leak over a long period of time. The insurance company will not cover claims the occurred due to negligence.
