Homeowner’s insurance premiums have gone up because the average coverage on homes has increased over the years. Not only are dwelling amounts increasing, but the personal property and other parts of the policy have higher amounts.
Liability costs and medical cost are higher than they were in the past and that has increased costs. And of course, national disasters (such as the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma) continue to cost billions of dollars to insurers.
