Most employers that offer health insurance are offering a group plan. There are rarely any qualifications for the coverage. The premium may be subsidized by your employer but there is normally some savings in the fact that it is group coverage. Your employer will probably deduct the premiums from your paycheck which will reduce your withholding and FICA taxes.
