UnitedHealthcare, one of the largest health insurers in the United States, covers FDA-approved contraceptive methods. It is believed that IUDs are on that list.
The Affordable Care Act provided health insurers to cover qualified and approved contraception methods at 100% with no waiting period. Many counseling expenses that are related to preventive benefits are also covered.
