   Currently 85 – 90% of the population is covered by health insurance. About a third of the population has Medicare or Medicaid as their primary coverage. The rest are covered by an employer plan or individually owned health insurance.

   Starting in 2014 most everyone will be required to purchase health insurance if they are covered by a government or employer plan.
