What does disability insurance do?  It protects your standard of living. You can insure your income for a short time or a long time depending on what you want to spend and your needs. Disability insurance simply creates a pool of money every month for the insured to do with as they want to. It is known as paycheck protection.

Disability insurance is also known as paycheck insurance as it protects your most valuable asset…your paycheck or income.  Your income is what you use to buy all of your other assets … house, car, college, retirement so it is the overall most important asset.  If you cannot work because of illness or injury, a disability insurance policy will pay you a benefit.  Disability insurance policies have many options (called riders), so it is important to discuss this purchase with a knowledgeable adviser.
