   More than likely yes.  Auto Insurance Companies file rates and underwriting guidelines that are used in each case when evaluating an application for coverage.  One’s driving record, accident history, sometimes credit history, whether or not they have had continuous auto insurance coverage, etc are many of the factors used for this purpose.

   A speeding ticket will likely increase your car insurance when the insurer finds out. The increase may be small or perhaps part of a discount that will be taken away.

   If you are shopping for new coverage, it does keep you from buying a policy, although it may make the rate more expensive.
