In California insurance follows the automobile. All the drivers in the household are considered when determining the rate. If your son is no longer in the household he doesn’t have to be included. If he is driving one of your cars, and the car is registered in your name or your are a co-registrant you should call your agent and get advice. This is particularly critical if he is operating your car in another state.
