It can yes so long as you have Comprehensive physical damage coverage and a Glass replacement endorsement. If you do not have the glass replacement endorsement, there may be coverage but it will be subject to your policy deductible so it is a good idea to discuss this option with your Insurance Professional.

Auto insurance covers window replacement. Typically, it is referred to as “glass breakage,” and is specifically a covered benefit under your “comprehensive” (other than collision) benefits.
The deductible is often $0 so full replacement or repair with no out of pocket expense is common. Normally, window repair and replacement companies will come to you at your home or place of business.

If you have Comprehensive (or Other Than Collision) coverage on your automobile, the windshield should be covered. It would be subject to your deductible but depending on the cost of the winddshield….it may be less than your deductible.
Some companies will WAIVE the deductible if the windshield can be repaired. Check with your agent to see if your company will waive the deductible, then check with a local auto glass shop (Windshield Medic, Dr Glass, or the like) to see if the windshield could be repaired. They can normally fix “stars” upto about the size of a quarter ($0.25 piece) or cracks upto the length of a dollar bill.
