Met life variable is directly related on how well the Dow Jones Does. If the Dow Jones has a bad year meaning it goes down in value in the full year, than most likely your variable will too. The variable will swing up or down just like the stock market. If you anticipate a bad year in the Dow Jones then your variable will to in most cases depending on what its invested in.
