   Medicare is a federal program. The benefits are the same regardless of the state in which you live. Incidentally, it isn’t the same should you travel outside the USA or reside outside the USA. This produces a dilemma for medical providers as the cost of services isn’t the same everywhere. In some places Medicare payments are deemed adequate. In others, they are inadequate.

   “Original” Medicare provides identical benefits in every state.

   Likewise, Medicare supplement plans (Medigap) is also identical in every state.

   Medicare Advantage plans will vary greatly by price and benefit not only from state to state but within a state.
