Tenants should always have coverage because the dwelling policy the owner of the property will take out does not cover the tenants belongings. Policies a very affordable and as a tenant they can choose the amount of coverage they want to carry. Coverage for their belongings as well as liability in the event someone is injured and Pursues them legally. In the event a water heater breaks, roof leaks, a/c damages their belongings the renter could look toward their personal home policy.

Tenants should have renters insurance to protect themselves and their immediate family that resides in the same premise from financial hardship due to a covered unexpected loss. Renters insurance will typically provide some funds to help the insured secure another premise after being displaced due to a covered loss. Contact a local agent to discuss the coverages provided by renters insurance and any exclusions that their may be.
